Charter (formerly Bylaws)
In our post-911 world, non-profit organizations such as the EFGOCM are now required by banks to have a charter in order to maintain a tax-exempt status. Instead of creating a new document called the "Charter" while maintaining the more changeable Bylaws, the Administration Committee recommended to maintain a single document and renamed it “Charter.” In a vote at the 2015 conference by the Council, the Charter was created. Additionally, certain items were removed from the Bylaws and incorporated as the new Procedural Guide.
